PT About FITNIR
In the early 1990s, a partnership was formed between Kvaerner Chemetics and Paprican (Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada, now FPInnovations) to develop a unique pulp liquor analyzer. Kvaerner and Paprican jointly obtained US and International patents for this new technology, with inventors including Michael Kester, Thanh Trung, and Denys LeClerc. Thanh and his team developed novel online analyzer based on FT-NIR spectroscopy that provides key measurements for process optimization and ultimately for cost savings.
FITNIR is now a part of BTG group
The acquisition of FITNIR Analyzers Inc. will represent a strategic milestone for BTG Group, broadening the product offerings in the pulp market. FITNIR specializes in pulp liquor property measurement (on-line and bench top units), which complements BTG’s offerings in Cooking, Bleaching and Chemical Recovery.
Sunny Cui, BTG Group CEO expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “we are happy to welcome FITNIR into the BTG family.
