Location: India

As part of our mechanical engineering team you will contribute to the full product lifecycle development with a focus on quality. The job includes development and evaluation of mechanical, optical, electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting trial programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermo mechanics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials. Documentation is prepared for sourcing and production departments, such as drawings and bills of material.

This position is located in India where you will work remotely from your home office. During the first couple of months in this position, you will participate in a training program at our Technology Center in Säffle, Sweden. After that, travel to Sweden will be required 1-2 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical design work according to BTG standards – prepare documentation for production, e.g. drawings and bills of material.
  • Work according to priorities set by the Mechanical Group Manager, with ability to structure and self-organize.
  • Manage schedules and quality requirements.
  • Design and make pressure calculations for mechanical constructions according to relevant PED directives.
  • Contribute in planning and evaluation of laboratory and field trials of components and products.
  • Lead projects occasionally, in a lean development environment, with daily cadence.
  • Contribute to optimize existing constructions regarding quality, functionality, user friendliness, and design for manufacturing.
  • Actively search for and suggest solutions for mechanical design problems.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Must have a genuine interest in technology and a desire to learn more about the products and applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; both verbal and written English skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy; prioritize, organize and work independently.
  • Flexible and able to travel.
  • Excellent computer skills, strong knowledge of MS Office.

Required education / experience

  • SC in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent work experience with similar responsibilities.
  • Additional education or experience from other engineering disciplines such as optics, chemical or software engineering is an asset.
